John Anthony Vineyards Wine Cellar
"The Coombsville Vineyard is one of our most intriguing vineyards. Dry farmed. Head trained. Four acres. Black cherry, raspberry jam and blood orange scents with sweet lavender, sage and exotic spices. The flavors are explosive. A dense core of dark berries and plums wrapped in grilled herbs, bittersweet dark chocolate, sweet tobacco and tanned leather. The finish is nearly undending and unfolds with great symmetry in its tannin and acid, fruit and spice."

"This fourth release of the multivintage La Dame Michele is from Chardonnay. Bright citrus aromas of key lime and lemon peel comingle with undertones of jasmine, water flowers, toasted almond, beeswax. Wonderfully dry with bracing acidity. Green apple, grapefruit and Asian pear on the palate. The lively mousse and persistent bead are elegant. This sparkling finishes with mineraluty and a hint of brioche."
"Musque clone Sauvignon Blanc vines planted almost twenty years ago by John Anthony Truchard on two acres of estate vineyard in Carneros. Aromas of tropical and stone fruit, white flower and vanilla nougat. Juicy, ripe flavors of cantaloupe and baked pineapple balanced by tart passionfruit and light toasted almond. The palate is round and complex with refreshing acidity and a bright, mineral finish."
"Bright tropical fruit, citrus and lemongrass aromas. This vintage has more Sancerre-like qualities than we have produced in previous years. Kaffir lime and passionfruit flavors are focused and well supported by fresh almond and sweet herbs. The wine has a lean structure, mineral undertones and energetic acidity that make it a refreshing spring offering."
“From a single vineyard in south Napa, select Chardonnay grapes are fermented with native yeasts in American Oak. Soft pear and ripe apple aromatics comingle with caramel and butterscotch. The palate has bright fruit and baking spices with undertones of buttery brioche. The long, lingering finish is surprisingly crisp with pronounced minerality."
"Mixed berry aromas with plum and dark currant. Hints of black licorice and sweet herbs. On the palate, the wine is rich and broad with firm structure balanced by a supple finish. Blackberry and Cassis flavors dominate with the support of five spice and a high mineral tone. This classic Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon continues to bear the standard for John Anthony. It can be enjoyed immediately and for the next 15 years to come."
"Hands down the best vintage of this wine we have produced to date. As the vines continue to mature, so does the quality and character of the fruit. The perfume of red fruit, roses and incense is both powerful and delicate. The wine shows more structure than it ever has and maintains its soft, silky texture. Chocolate covered cherries, cassis and a potpourri of blue and purple flowers command the palate, yet there is a subtle spice that pervades throughout. This could be the best wine in the spring portfolio and will continue to evolve beautifully."

"The warm honey-gold hue of this late harvest is a prelude to the intense mouth watering fragrance. Inviting aromas of succulent ripe apricot, peaches and pears draw you in with accents of honeysuckle, all spice and nutmeg. In the mouth there is explosion of flavor unfolding with dried pear and apricot, bright peach and a hint of orange blossom and baked lemon custard. Flavors develop and unfold over the pallet with perfectly balanced acidity ending in a long lingering finish."
"The second release of our Reserve Chardonnay continues to impress from these hand selected best barrels. Barrel fermentation with native yeasts provides a distinct style to this wine that is often achieved in the great cellars of Burgundy. Apple pie and honeyed aromas layer over a foundation of white flowers and chalky minerality. The texture is round with curves that awaken the palate and provide a lengthy finish. Baked Meyer lemon, pear and coconut flavors with hazelnut and geranium. The Reserve Chardonnay will both drink well now and cellar well later."
