2021 John Anthony Coombsville Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon
Tasting Notes:
"This small four-acre estate, known for producing expressive fruit, is a standout in John Anthony’s exclusive single-vineyard collection. Deep purple with a ruby rim, it reveals aromas of blue and black berries, dark fruit, wet earth, and graphite. The palate follows with blackberry, black cherry and plum accented by notes of cigars, toffee, espresso, and roses. This wine combines power and refinement, evolving gracefully. Aged for 28 months in 80% new French oak barrels. Only 256 cases produced".
Vintage Notes:
The 2021 Napa Valley vintage is defined by low yields, small berries, and a smooth harvest. The second year of drought led to minimal rain, but the vines thrived with less pruning and fruit dropping. Harvest began early, and despite concerns over the drought, the resulting fruit is intensely flavored and concentrated resulting in wines that are focused and full of potential.
