"The 2023 John Anthony Reserve Chardonnay has a golden core with a pale-yellow rim. Aromas of baked apple, pineapple, popcorn, and butterscotch are complemented by flint and graphite notes. Notes of grapefruit, papaya, white flower are balanced with chalky minerality. A  round, voluptuous entry evolves to  a focused, lean mid-palate. The finish is long and vibrant. Aged for 11 months in new French oak. Only 50 cases produced."

"Covering just two and a half acres in Napa Valley’s Oak Knoll District, GnR produces intensely flavored Cabernet Sauvignon. Deep ruby with a magenta rim, aromas of black cherry, fig, mint, and dark chocolate lead to a bold palate of black and blue fruits, plum, pepper, and cedar. Elegant tannins and vibrant acidity highlight its depth. Aged 28 months in 60% new French oak. Only 238 cases produced."

"A quintessential Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, artfully blended from our premier estates across the Valley. In the glass, notice bright ruby-purple hues with enticing aromas of red currant, bay leaf, and blood orange and hints of clove and dark pitted fruits. Spanning a modest four acres in the Oak Knoll District of Napa Valley, Crane Vineyard was the first vineyard John both leased and planted, with Syrah vines planted in 1999. Deep purple tones in the glass anticipate an explosive bouquet of dark red summer fruits with a rich, dark plum core. Subtle hints of savory dried herbs add depth, complemented by distinctive leather undertones. On the palate, intense brambleberry and blueberry flavors expand with a hint of fresh mint, licorice, and savory olive tapenade notes. contributing. "The Merlot vines that John planted at Crane Vineyard in 1996 continue to gain in maturity and stature. The 2020 vintage displays the incomparable character of this Oak Knoll District estate. A dark ruby color sets the pace for aromas of red cherry, blueberry, fig, and toffee. The palate introduces layers of pitted red fruit, baking spices, and roast coffee. Fruit, spice, and earthy notes progress into the finish with fine acidity and balanced tension. Aged for 20 months in 67 percent new French oak barrels. Less than 100 cases produced."

The John Anthony Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon is selected from the best of the vintage across our estates. The 2020 vintage leads with fruit from the head-trained, dry-farmed vines at Coombsville Vineyard, complemented by fruit sourced from the rocky, hillside terrain of Twisted Oak Vineyard. Rich bold aromas of crème de cassis and black currant are tinged with cedar, crushed stone, and bay leaf. Powerful bright red fruit flavors lead to a rich, dense core of ripe blackberry, baking spice, and vanilla with hints of lilac and sweet pine adding depth and complexity. The texture is soft and round with beautifully integrated tannins reminiscent of the acclaimed 2012 vintage. Aged for 28 months in 70% new French oak barrels. Less than 50 cases produced.

"The 2020 John Anthony Reserve Syrah was carefully sourced from a micro-block at Crane Vineyard, one of the first plots planted to the Hermitage Clone of Syrah by John nearly 25 years ago. A deep, inky hue foreshadows a medley of black, blue, and red fruit aromas—olallieberry, huckleberry, and dark cherry with intriguing notes of kalamata olives. Followed by flavors of preserved berries, fresh savory spices, and a touch of black pepper. Mid-palate tannins command attention and release into an incredibly long finish, showcasing a subtle yet robust power in the mid-to-back palate. Aged for 20 months in 80% new French oak barrels. Only 100 cases produced."

An uneventful and easy growing season until mid-October rainstorms. Caramel and golden tones are perfumed with ripe passionfruit, baked lychee and framed by beeswax and toasted vanilla bean. Flavors of warm mango, tangerine marmalade, gingersnap and sumac have a bright energy and blossom with aeration.
