2019 John Anthony Twisted Oak Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon
"The 2019 vintage marks just the third micro-production vineyard designate from Twisted Oak—one of the first vineyards that John planted as an early champion of the Oak Knoll District of Napa Valley. Aromas of baked, red fruits and savory-spiced plum reveal hints of dried rose and fresh fig. A powerful and progressive mouthfeel reveals flavors of cassis, cherry cobbler, and tobacco leaf. Plump tannins bring length and breadth to the finish. Aged for 28 months in 80 percent new French oak barrels. Only 200 cases produced."
Vintage Notes: Abundant early rainfall was a welcome sight in advance of the 2019 growing season. A warm, steady summer in Napa Valley was followed by moderate conditions through harvest. The signatures of this Cabernet Sauvignon vintage were vibrancy and structure, as exemplified by this limited Twisted Oak Vineyard release.
