Aromas of blueberry and blackberry are accented by intriguing cedar spice and traces of toffee, leading into tart blackberry and caramel flavors. Polished tannins and lively acidity carry through a long finish, creating a harmonious structure. Barrel aged in 62% new French oak for 22 months.

Vintage Notes:
The 2022 growing season in Napa Valley brought challenges—from late spring frost to September heat spikes—that naturally reduced yields. But with lower yields came greater intensity. The expertise of the John Anthony Winemaking and Vineyard Management team transcended these events, creating red wines that show deep color, luxurious tannins, and vibrant, fruit-forward aromatics, with a balance of power and elegance that reflects the vintage’s dramatic swings in weather. The resulting more limited production will create even greater demand for John Anthony’s signature Cabernets.
