Gleaning the best grapes off our hillside vineyards we were able to produce 1052 cases of delicious 2011 John Anthony Napa Valley Cabernet. This is about one half of our normal production due to a challenging year. I am delighted to share with you that what made it to the bottle is classic rich, smooth, and balanced John Anthony Cabernet Sauvignon. 1052 cases produced.
Attractive aromas of dark berry, red berry, red and black licorice make way to flavors of huckleberry, dried cherry, anise and roasted coffee. Integrated with ripe and nutty tannins, it's cedary oak and cigar box notes leave you with a plush and silky lingering finish.
Aromas of ripe, complex currant and plum lead to layered berry, mineral and sage on the palate. Delicately complex at first, building power and richness into plush and full-bodied plum, black cherry and wild berry fruit shaded by nuances toasty oak. Pure, rich and focused with a supple, graceful mix of ripe fruit that is both rich and elegant, graceful and balanced, ending with a long, finish of chewy yet polished tannins.

A complex, luxurious nose of ripe dark berry, plum and cassis fruit with complementary scents of clove and nutmeg. On the lushly textured palate, the wine’s fresh, rich raspberry and red currant flavors are enriched by a savory oak undertone that frames the wine’s long, fruitful finish. The vibrant fruit, dramatic structure, linear acidity and fabulously ripe, dense tannins make this a tremendous wine, enjoyable now but more than capable of long-term aging.
